Live a Life of Love

In Liberty Leadership Blog, Self Leadership

Most of us have had time to reflect on what’s really important and what’s really of value. We are all vulnerable, and a lot has been stripped away from us…our freedom, the way we do life. Worldwide many have lost jobs, income, businesses, and as a result, may lose more!

Loving relationships are the most valuable and important in our lives and to God. We usually are so busy, stressed and distracted we often neglect these.

Let’s NOT miss out on the BEST LIVES WE CAN LIVE… lives by God’s design. His love is transformational! Let’s live by the law of LOVE.
First, we are loved by the Father. Many of us have a very distorted view of the Father God. This is the enemy’s ploy to keep us at a distance from Him. Our fathers have not helped us to know the LOVE of God often being absent, abusive, or preoccupied and dealing with their own issues. We cannot expect our friends, husband, wife or parents to be our ultimate source of love… as humans, we often fall so short of being able to supply the full extent of love others need around us. It’s just totally an unrealistic expectation! Only God can do this!

He loved us while we were sinners… even for those who don’t know him today or don’t care or are even hostile toward Him. His love is relentless in chasing them down! His love is unconditional, eternal, everlasting, reckless and unfailing! No matter what you have done or where you have been, His love pursues you. He doesn’t have a bad mood or a bad day or just decide to reject you, He doesn’t look on you with disapproval His love is strong .. He is for you and your Highest Good! Our Father who has lavished His love on us and adopted us into His family! His love is the best, most healing, most life-giving love we can experience this side of heaven. Most people know that song .. “Jesus loves me this I know for the Bible tells me so!” We need to meditate on all the scriptures that show His great love for US and then learn how to RECEIVE that love for ourselves.
God wants us to live in His love! So let’s look at….Our best lives are lives lived in the vast ocean of His love!

Here are some scriptures for you to meditate on, believe in and DO!

Mark 12:30-31 New International Version (NIV)
30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ [a] 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’ [b] There is no commandment greater than these.” All the law and the prophets are summed up in this!

1Cor 13: 1
13 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
We cannot love like this without the love of God in our hearts. God has empowered us to live out of the overflow of His relationship with us. He has filled us with is Spirit! 2Timothy 1:7 7 For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
And He has promised in Romans 5:5 5 And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

Gal5:22 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

We have been empowered by the Holy Spirit to live by the law of love.

Thank you for the words of comfort Pastor Karen. Loving relationships are indeed important to us in times such as these when you are not sure who will stand by you should the unthinkable happen to you. It’s comforting though to know that Jesus loves us even in times of turmoil.
