Vision Vaccination – Part 1
Have you ever been walking through your home late in the evening and suddenly there is a power failure? Everything goes pitch dark, and if it is a power outage in your neighbourhood on a cloudy dark night .. there is zero visibility. Suddenly you find yourself fumbling around for familiarity in the confusion and disorientation. Your entire demeanour changes from one of confidently walking to the kitchen for a glass of water to tentatively measuring each move and hesitantly taking each step with the utmost caution.
Your VISION was lost!
Proverbs. 29:18 says, “Where there is no VISION / revelation / prophetic vision, the people cast off restraint / live chaotic lives / abandon themselves to chance & fate.
Vision is vital to our ability to tap into God’s plan, promises and purposes for our life. Vision also catalyzes FAITH and faith pleases God (Hebrews 11:6). Faith finds its SUBSTANCE and EVIDENCE for an ‘unseen’ future, in God’s word. (Hebrews 11:1)
When we hitch ourselves to God’s preferred intention .. VISION .. we move from fatalism, chaos and chance towards a focused pursuit of God’s promised future for our lives. This not only enormously injects meaning and motivation into our thinking, feeling and choices but positions us to inspire those we love around us to live a LARGER life for God’s glory!
I believe it is time.. right now.. in this season to re-invigorate your vision.. to wait on God and fight FOR a WORD, a PROMISE a VISION, for what’s left of the rest of your one and only life. Then live boldly FROM that WORD, that VISION, to possess all God has for you and become all God designed you to be!
Faith will vaccinate your fears because the same uncertainties that FEAR and FAITH ensure you.. namely that what you can’t see may become a reality .. elicits ingenuity, anticipation and resolve within you. The only difference being that FAITH has a sure outcome because it is based on the EVIDENCE of God’s eternal WORD!
- Carve out some time to list your most dominate and recurring fears and anxieties.
- Write down what you believe is God’s will and VISION for your life in the next 5 years.
- Ask how can you grow in your FAITH to pursue God’s vision for your life and make VISION your prevailing focus in negating nagging fears!
